As with most crime trends, construction theft runs in phases. Recently, we have seen a clear shift towards the de-installation theft of boilers. These incidents are fast, targeted, and costly: intruders are often in and out within minutes, leaving behind a high-value loss, delayed handover, and, more often than not, water damage for good measure.
At K9 Protection Ltd, we provide a suite of intrusion detection devices developed specifically to address the realities of boiler theft on construction sites.
Using the Ajax Systems platform, we are able to protect multiple vacant properties as they near completion using image-verified alarm signals. These alarms provide immediate local deterrence, notify on-site guards of the affected plot, and can be linked to a remote monitoring centre where keyholders and police response can be deployed without delay.
As with all of our remotely monitored security systems, BoilerProtect is designed as a compact, self-contained, solar-powered alarm hub. The unit can be mounted above head height on a scaffold pole or lamp post and will operate almost perpetually, even under typical UK sunlight conditions. Each hub can support up to 100 devices. In theory, this allows up to 100 properties to be protected by a single system across a range of up to 2km in optimal line-of-sight conditions. For consistent, reliable performance without signal boosters, we recommend a working range of approximately 400m.

As site conditions change, the device can be repositioned quickly, ensuring protection remains focused on the assets that matter.

The BoilerProtect Say Cheese device is a soft-lined, magnetic unit designed to attach safely to the front of a boiler within its cupboard. The name is intentional. The moment the cupboard door is opened, the alarm is triggered and image verification is immediately transmitted to the security team.
There is no delay, no guesswork, and no reliance on chance patrols. The system responds at the exact moment intent turns into action.
