Commitment to achieving Net Zero

K9 Protection Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040.

Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2024

16052.42kg co2E

Emissions reduction targets

This is our first set of emissions figures.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 14000 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 12.8% and will be primarily obtained by the phased replacement of our patrol vehicles with more environmentally efficient options.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

Since our initial carbon footprint calculation, we have taken steps to reduce our carbon footprint, these include:

  • Retiring our older, less energy efficient server
  • Moving from desktop PCs to power efficient laptop computers
  • Providing staff with reusable water bottles and cutlery to prevent the use of single use items on site
  • All of our CCTV towers have been retrofitted as solar-based systems
  • adding sensors to the lighting circuits within our office to reduce energy consumption
  • As vehicles come to end of life it is our intention to investigate replacing them with hybrid electric vehicles. For the mileage our team do, pure electric vehicles are not currently range-efficient, although we will continue to review the situation.
  • We aim to ensure that all of our alarm rental systems are available as solar powered systems.

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
